Is it possible to go scuba diving once on Catalina Island if you have no past experience?
Posted on Jan 02, 2010 under Scuba Dive equipment | 2 CommentsI would like to go scuba diving on Catalina island for my birthday next month. I don’t have any experience and I am staying there for four days. I would like to just learn how to scuba dive and go on a diving trip that lasts just for a few hours or so. Is there a place that teaches you, gives you a scuba diving trip, provides you equipment, and is affordable in one place? Or should I just forget it?
You can take a "resort course". This course will expose you safely to one dive.
In California, PADI (www.padi.org) gives a list of SCUBA certification places. PADI is located in So Cal.

Any PADI resort on the island should be able to take you on a discover scuba diving course – this shows you how the kit works and gets you used to breathing underwater – an idea way to see if you like it – if so, you can do the open water course, but this will take several days so you can do this next time if you like it!
Check out the website attached for details on the PADI Discover Scuba course then the other site I found on Google
