Looking for a place in S. Cali to scuba with no certification????

I am looking for a place to take my boyfriend to discovery or introductory dive in Southern Cali, mainly south of Los angeles but north of mexico. I am already looking into catalina but the 200 dollar a night hotel prices are killing me~! I cant believe the gouging. I am looking for a place that also includes all the equipment needed. Thank you! And please do not tell me to go ask dive shops I want specifics that I can look up on the net and then be able to call for info!
Thanks for the link and as I put an introductory dive, not a deep dive I know the difference and I am not naive to the power of water.

Here’s a website exclusively for diving in the LA area. You need to either give a whole lot more information or else do a lot of research into the sites that this website mentions. I think you should start by going down the page to the beginner lessons section. I feel you have visions of finding a place that will automatically take you out for a deep water dive, but there’s a lot you have to learn before diving. Something as simple as a sneeze underwater can blow out your ear drums. Better to be safe than sorry. Start with the beginner’s class, and go from there. Most courses even certify divers in a swimming pool. Scuba looks easy, and it can be once you’ve learned some basic guidelines, but it’s just not as easy as it looks.

if you want scuba lessons do you have to buy the gear to?
