scuba diving in florida
Posted on Aug 08, 2009 under Scuba Dive equipment | 2 CommentsI want to do beginners scuba diving where they just let you dive just off the shore. what are some good places to go in either clearwater area, daytona area or anywhere near central florida, also what would be the price to rent all the equipment?
Karna,
In SCUBA, you will begin with class room study, followed by work in a pool for your basics. next comes your first dives in protected inland waters (In Florida, please do not molest the alligators.) Then open water diving, usually from a dive boat.
This gets you certified to dive in "open water". Now, if you want to do shore diving, there are a lot of places on the east coast of Florida to SCUBA from shore. On the West coast of Florida, there are places you could walk out to the 3 mile limit before you would be deep enough to dive.

Just head down to the Keys and you can probably dive without certification because everyone is so laid-back. You might have to do a little intro course but that plus a couple dives is prob no more than $300.
