What are the best scuba fins you can buy?
Hi,
My opinion would by my current fins Mares Quatro Avanti. A bit old now but suit my style of diving. They are comfortable, easy to put on and take off, durable (300+ dives with these) , with good blade flex and dont make your legs feel like there falling off after a dive, plus there inexpensive.
As some of the others have stated, there are no perfect fins. Only the ones that suit you.

the ones that fit our feet right for the location of the dive. the blade are adapted to your dive.
check your padi booklet that will help no end

here are a variety of different performing fins on the market. Regardless of what others may suggest, try on different fins from different manufacturers. I've tried many over the years and found there is no one perfect fin for all-around diving.
Research through independant websites that rae fins, such as Skin Diver or Scuba.com, etc.
For those that have only tried 1 or 2 or 3 different fins, you should be careful dispensing advice.

My source is 24 years of diving.
I have used alot of different styles and shapes not too mention brands, but the best fins and the fastest fins underwater and above(surface swimming) would be
Mares Quattro Excel. They are flexible yet sturdy enough to offer power and thrust without compromising comfort. They are available in primarily three colours, yellow ,blue and red.I would give it 5 out of 5

27 years diving and still dont like the cold
I like the Mares Plana Avanti Quattro – again, I've used a number of fins and have found these to be powerful, sturdy and comfortable, not causing too much leg fatigue / cramps.
I''ve dived for over 10 years and spent four years teaching and (most) instructors prefer these, especially as they last way beyond other fins – they are tried and tested. Mine have done around 800 dives so far and although are scratched and look a little tatty (bit like the owner), there is absolutely nothing wrong with them – I wish I used them from the start.
I've met a few instructors who really love the Scubapro Twin Jets – I personally disliked the lack of "feel" that flows through the leg when wearing them compared to traditional fins and the slightly different fin stroke you need to get the most out of them. I also worked with one instructor who absolutely swore by the Posieden Pro Force (after selling his Quattro's)…but then he was a little eccentric!
