are scuba diver regulators allowed on aircraft.?

Yes they are. It’s advisable to carry them as part of your carry on luggage. You don’t want the cargo handlers knocking them about.

have you ever tried scuba diving ?

Yes but obviously not attached to a tank.

provided they know when they can fly, shouldn’t be a problem. I guess no one will ask if you’re a diver or not. If you have been diving and jump into a plane straight away you’re the one being popped… out

    Yes.

Note:some airlines allow tourists to bring the whole diving equipment(not in the cockpit…of course) with no charges for the extra weight,in addition to your normal luggage .

I transport my regulator in my carry-on luggage all the time.

In the US, I will occasionally get the x-ray machine security person that has no idea what it is. Once the supervisor is nearby and you tell them that it is a scuba regulator, they tend not to have a problem.

Outside of the US, I have never been questioned.

That’s a great question, I’m glad you asked, asker, because I needed to know that, too! I’m getting ready to fly to FL in March, and had planned to take my reg setup as carry on luggage.

    Thanks, everyone!

Yes but only as long as they are NOT accompanied by the tank. Easier to pass in you checked baggage also.

I always carry mine (reg, octopus and computer consol) in my hand-luggae as it’s too pricey to risk going missing.

The only trouble I’ve had is that the screw that attaches the first stage to the tank can look like a bolt on the x-ray, which raised suspicion (on only one occasion – I’ve taken mine pretty much around the world) but they still let me through.

You could remove this part and put it in your checked luggage if you think there’s a risk of it being confiscated!
