I can't get it to stop, although I have tried all of the tricks. I think it's an Oceanic, but I'm not positive and I am kind of hesitant about taking it to my local dive shop because they are pretty pricey. Any tips on how to make it stop? This one was bought on ebay, by the way. My primary reg is a Poseidon Cyklon, so it isn't a huge deal if it isn't fixed right away.
Ray G: I'm not actually using it, but I do agree with you. It's just a spare to have as back up.

It sounds like the valve cracking needs tuning or perhaps even a problem with the diaphragm. Most likely the cracking pressure or it's valve seat. Adjusting the cracking pressure isn't something you could do. It requires stripping down the housing and sometimes using some specialized tools depending on the reg. Take it in.
If it's the diaphragm, it's a minor fix with the right part, but requires you to partially disassemble the second stage's housing to even see. If you're not careful, you could do more damage than good. Take it in.
I hate to say it, but the situation you're in with that reg is exactly why no one should buy a piece of life support gear online. Dive knives, booties, whatever, sure. Anything you depend on for breathing or buoyancy? No way. The reg sevice is probably going to cost more than what you saved on the reg.
Final word…take it in. Especially since I read the bit about it being an Ebay purchase.
